Lauzon Winter Wildlife
There is a common misconception about the “dead of winter”. We highly disagree with this statement. Even at nighttime, the sky dances with the vibrant colors of the Northern Lights.
The nature around Lake Lauzon is always very alive. Whether it’s the hungry fish under inches of ice, the beautiful blue jays and cardinals flying from tree to tree or the busy little weasel trying to scavenge enough goodies to last him through the blizzards.
Take a pair of snowshoes through the feet of snow and try counting just how many different sized paw prints you see strewn all over the trails.
Don’t forget your camera! The white canvas of snow is a perfect setting for wildlife photography. Depending on how skilled you are with a camera, you could easily capture a winning photo. Keep in mind, the white snow with any bright, contrasting fur color is bound to give you a stunning image.
