Group of Seven: 10 Interesting Facts
The Group of Seven was formed in 1920 and, as the name says, consisted of seven members.
Franklin Carmichael, Lawren Harris, A.Y. Jackson, Frank Johnston, Arthur Lismer, J.E.H. MacDonald and Frederick Varley are known around the world for their astonishing portraits of Canadian landscapes.
Starting their ventures off in Northern Ontario, The Group of Seven proved to many disbelievers that the beauty of our country was worthy of being painted. This opened the world’s eyes to the natural settings and beautiful forests Canada has.
