"Fish are getting hungry!"

Spring at Lake Lauzon is always an exciting time of year. The bright sunshine is bringing out new buds on trees, animals are making their way out from a long winter of hiding. One thing we tend to overlook is the liveliness of the night time. Once the new spring equinox sets in, the smelt come alive. After sunset, the Lauzon Creek is bustling with the sound of splashing. The smelts are a highly sought after prize for many residents around the Northern Channel. Many avid fishers use these small fish as bait throughout the summer season. The beautiful bounty that mother nature offers after the cold dark months gets anybody excited for the summertime!
