Cooking in Cabins
When it comes to cooking in a cabin, your food will be as good as you allow it. One thing I’ve always told people is, “Simple is best!” Why not start with the rugged, minimalist style of cooking. As long as you have a knife, pot, pan, running water and a stove, you can really create just about anything. My choice ingredients when cooking simple, is hearty herbs. Sage, Thyme, Rosemary are just a few of the best flavors nature has to offer. Seasoning that freshly caught fish, or the rabbit you mistook for a turkey with a simple sage butter sauce will have everyone at the table asking for seconds. As for sides, you can never go wrong with nicely seasoned roasted potatoes and a fresh mound of buttered broccoli. Bring the basics, and let your imagination take your cooking the rest of the way!
